the last few decades, Pakistanis living abroad, especially in the
United States, have made serious strides in their efforts to achieve
maximum benefits from the economic growth experienced by the global
economy. They have made considerable success in achieving their
goals. Their income grew, their standards of living increased, they

Despite our achievements, we are still living in the shadow of our
inept economy. Pakistanis abroad and at home have made little effort
to repair the image of Pakistan. Until we realize that we have an
important role to play, we will not be able to show our children and
grandchildren that Pakistan can also stand in the front line
together with the world’s advanced economies. With its growing world
presence, Pakistan can no longer be ignored and nor can we ignore
it. We must stand tall and make a serious effort to bring Pakistan
out of shadow into the spotlight of the 21st Century economy.
